Crucial P3 Plus PCIe 4.0 SSD (1TB) Drops Down to $74, New All-Time Low

Ryzen 7000 CPUs Drop in Price
AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 series CPUs offer higher clock speeds and much better performance than their predecessors in the 5000 series, but they also cost a lot more. We’ve explained why Ryzen 7000 costs so damn much, but that doesn’t make this pill any easier to swallow.
However, we’re now seeing some price drops across the board. Antonline, via its eBay store, has the Ryzen 7 7700X for $349 (opens in new tab) (reduced from $399), the Ryzen 9 7900X is $464 (opens in new tab) (reduced from $549) and the Ryzen 9 7950X is $599 (opens in new tab) (reduced from $699).
All three of these chips support DDR5 RAM and PCIe 5 SSDs. They deliver strong frame rates in 1080p gaming, which easily beat most of their predecessors, both in the Ryzen 5000 series and Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake. However, the new Intel 13th Gen chips are a little faster at a gaming. On the bright side, AMD’s chips offer you more cores and threads for the money.

How Cheap Can 1TB SSDs Get? How about $59 for a PCIe 3.0 Drive?
With the price of NAND flash memory falling, we’re seeing some great deals on SSDs already this Black Friday season. We recently highlighted deals on SSDs from Solidigm / Intel that were in the $129 range for 2TB and other drives that were in the $70 range for 1TB.
However, right now, Amazon has an Inland QN322 1TB PCIe 3.0 SSD for just $59 (opens in new tab). That’s so cheap that you can easily use it to drive down the drive of the best PC Build under $500 so you can put the extra money into a better graphics card.
We haven’t tested this particular Inland SSD, but we have reviewed other Inland models and found them to be competitive. Like those, the QN322 uses a respectable Phison brand controller which should provide performance that’s more than adequate for most people. Still, if you’re looking for higher speeds, we recommend spending a few dollars more and checking out our list of best SSDs overall and best SSD deals.

Get a 2TB PCIe 3.0 SSD for Less Than $130
Given that many PC games use 100+ GB of space, a 500GB or 1TB SSD may not be enough. If you need to upgrade your storage or are planning a budget PC build, getting a 2TB SSD would be ideal. And now you can get a 2TB NVMe SSD for just $129 (or $119).
Right now, Newegg has the Solidigm P41 Plus, a PCIe 3.0 drive, in 2TB capacity for just $129 (opens in new tab) on sale. You can also get the slower, Intel SSD 670p for $119 (opens in new tab) after rebate, but that drive is backordered. The drives are siblings as Solidigm bought Intel’s SSD division and the P41 is actually a next-gen replacement for the 670p.
We’ve reviewed the Solidigm P41 Plus when it came out earlier this year and, though it wasn’t the fastest PCIe 4.0 drive we tested, it offers good value for the money, which is even better at this sale price. We also reviewed the Intel 670p when it came out several years ago and liked its value proposition at the time.
As you can see in our chart below, both the P41 and the 670p are in the middle of the pack on 3DMark’s SSD test.
Overall, we’d go with the Solidigm P41 here as it’s a tad faster and it’s not backordered. But if you really want to save the $10, the Intel 670p is a solid choice.

Asus TUF Dash 15-inch Gaming Laptop with RTX 3070 Now $999
The best gaming laptops under $1,000 usually have no better than an RTX 3050 Ti. However, with holiday sales going on, you can sometimes find a better GPU on a laptop in this price range. Now, Best Buy has an Asus TUF Dash gaming laptop with an RTX 3070 GPU, which is good enough for gaming at high frame rates and settings, for $999 (opens in new tab).
Normally $1,499, this configuration of the TUF Dash also has a Core i7-12700H with 16GB of DDR5 RAM, a 512GB SSD and a 144 Hz, 1080p display.
We reviewed the TUF Dash F15 but a slightly earlier version with an 11th gen processor and DDR4 RAM. Our review config did have an RTX 3070, though. So you can expect that, with the faster CPU, you’d get even better results than we did. On Grand Theft Auto V , for example, the TUF Dash F15 scored a strong 87 fps at very high settings.
AMD Ryzen 5600X Now half price!
AMD’s Ryzen 5600X is a solid choice for AM4 systems. With six cores, 12 threads and a base frequency of 3.7 GHz (boost to 4.6 GHz), this CPU offers plenty of bang for your buck. The 5600X is a competent gaming and application CPU that will get the job done.
If you have an older, 300-series motherboard then this CPU is a viable upgrade from Ryzen 1000 and 2000 based systems. The CPU comes with a bundled CPU cooler, but if you are planning to overclock, then go for a better cooler.
The AMD Ryzen 5600X typically sells for $308, but at $158 this is a steal for a 1080p / 1440p gaming setup. We know this for a fact as the 5600X is powering our gaming machine.
Dell 34-inch, 144 Hz Gaming Monitor with HDR 400 Now $379
If you’re shopping for a gaming monitor with high resolution and plenty of vibrant color, the Dell S3422DWG could be for you. The 34-inch monitor operates at a wide-screen resolution of 3440 x 1440 while reaching a maximum of 144 Hz, which is plenty for most games.
The S3422DWG uses a VA panel that allows it to have a 3000:1 contrast rate. Dell also claims that the laptop can reproduce a full 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and shine as bright as 400 nits as it supports DisplayHDR 400. An 1800R curved screen adds to the immersion.
Normally, the Dell S3422DWG goes for $449, but right now Dell.com is has it for just $379 (opens in new tab), which matches an all-time low.
Get a 1TB Crucial NVMe SSD for $73, $79 for the PCIe 4.0 version
At this point, 1TB is the capacity sweet spot for budget builds while 2TB is ideal. While we can find 1TB SSDs selling for less than $70, it’s better to get something with a little more performance than the bare minimum and from a reputable brand.
Crucial is one of the best-known and most-trusted brands in storage and today Amazon has two of its 1TB, NVMe SSDs for less than $80. The Crucial P3, a PCIe 3.0 drive that boasts sequential transfer rates of 3,500 MBps read and 3,000 MBps write respectively, is now $73 (opens in new tab) while the Crucial P3 Plus, a PCIe 4.0 drive with rated speeds of 5,000 and 3,600 MBps, is just $79 (opens in new tab). We recently reviewed both drives and found them to be both good values with solid performance for the price.
In our review of the the Crucial P3 Plus, we praised its value. We tested a 2TB capacity so the performance numbers we got are different than what a 1TB capacity would offer. However, the 2TB model scored nicely in the middle of the pack on PC Mark 10 storage benchmark, which suggests the 1TB model is probably also middle-of-the-pack, which is good for what it costs.
Our advice: if you have a system that’s capable of using PCIe 4.0 SSDs, spend the extra $6 for the Crucial P3 Plus. If not, get the Crucial P3. Either one will give you solid performance and great value.
Gigabyte Aero 5 Laptop with RTX 3070 Ti, OLED Panel Just $1,249
If you need a laptop that’s powerful enough for gaming with a screen that’s colorful enough for professional photo and video editing, Gigabyte’s Aero 5 XE4 has the features you need. And its 4K OLED panel promises to display 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut for incredibly vibrant gaming and accurate creative work.
The laptop also has a Core i7-12700H CPU, which provides enough performance for productivity and gaming, along with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Now, Newegg has the Aero 5 XE4 for just $1,249, which is less than most laptop with 1080p screens and RTX 3060 graphics cost.
Get a 550W or 650W Cooler Master Power Supply for Less Than $30
If you’re planning a PC build and you’re on a tight budget, you don’t want to spend too much cash on the power supply. You want a reliable brand with the right wattage and, ideally, a unit that’s 80+ certified, but when you don’t plan to spend more than $500 or $1,000 on the whole system, you don’t want a 10 percent of it going to the power supply.
Right now, you can get a 550W Cooler Master MasterWatt for just $21 (opens in new tab) or a 650W unit for just $29 (opens in new tab) at Amazon. These PSUs are 80+ Bronze certified and they’re modular too. The only catch is that those prices are after a $40 mail-in rebate so you’ll have to pony up $61 or $69 right now and get the savings back later.
Acer Predator Helios 300 with RTX 3060 Now $999
Earlier today, we highlighted an Alienware m15 R7 laptop with an RTX 3060 GPU and, at $1,299, it was a great deal. However, if you aren’t set on getting an Alienware laptop, you can score an Acer Predator Helios 300 with RTX 3060 graphics and a Core i7 CPU for just $999 at Best Buy (opens in new tab).
This configuration of the Acer Predator Helios 300 also comes with 165 Hz, 1080p display that promises to reproduced 100 percent of the sRGB color gamut, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Those are some really strong specs for a laptop in this price range. We recently published our list of best laptops under $1,000 (based on their regular street prices) and none of them had higher than an RTX 3050 Ti card.
We reviewed the Acer Predator Helios 300 a few months ago, though our review unit had a much more powerful, RTX 3070 Ti GPU and a higher-res 2K display. We found the keyboard and touchpad comfortable the build quality solid. The audio could have been better, but was usable.
Perhaps most importantly, the Predator Helios 300 has two M.2 SSD slots inside, which are easily accessible. So, if you want to add a second SSD and increase your storage capacity, you can do so easily.
Alienware m15 R7 with RTX 3060 Now $1,299
When it comes time to choose a gaming laptop, for many folks, only an Alienware will do. Dell’s premiere gaming brand has a well-earned reputation for providing great build quality and attractive, extraterrestrial-themed aesthetics.
Alienware does premium, but it never does cheap so it’s rare to find any of the brand’s laptops selling for less than $1,500, let alone one with really strong specs. However, right now, Dell is offering an Alienware m15 R7 with RTX 3060 graphics, a Core i7 CPU, a 1TB SSD, 16GB of RAM and a 2K, 240 Hz display for just $1,299 (opens in new tab).
We recently published a review of the Alienware m15 R7, albeit one with different specs (a Ryzen CPU, a 1080p display and a 512GB SSD). However, the unit we tested has the same looks, keyboard, touchpad, general build quality and GPU as the one that’s on sale.
In our tests, we found that the RGB keyboard was snappy and very pleasant to use, the touchpad was more than accurate and the speakers were solid. Our review unit had impressive battery life, lasting a full 8 hours and 57 minutes on our battery test, which involves continuous surfing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness. However, it’s possible that the 2K screen on the sale unit would cause it use more power.
We can say for certain that the RTX 3060 GPU will allow you to play most games in 1080p at high or ultra setting at reasonable frame rates. Our review unit also had an RTX 3060 and returned a very-strong frame rate of 72 fps when we played Borderlands 3 at Badass settings.
Get a Radeon RX 6600 for Just $189
AMD’s Radeon RX 6600 GPU is good enough for 1080p gaming at high or ultra settings and has always been a pretty good bargain. When the GPU was released in 2021 amidst shortages and price gouging, cards had an MSRP of $329. More recently, we’ve seen Radeon RX 6600 cards dipping into the low $200 range.
Right now, Newegg has an MSI Mech Radeon RX 6600 on sale for just $189 (opens in new tab), after a $20 mail-in rebate. That’s cheap enough to upgrade your old PC’s graphics dramatically or do a new PC build for less than $600.
MSI’s card boasts a boost clock rate of 2,491 to go with its 8GB of GDDR6 memory. On our tests, a similar Radeon RX 6600 card averaged 72.3 fps on our suite of 1080p games at Ultra settings. That’s a lot better than Nvidia’ RTX 3050, which still goes for around $299 and averaged 55 fps. It’s also miles ahead of the Radeon RX 6500 XT, which costs around $169 now and averaged 34.3 fps.

Dell 34-Inch Curved WQHD Monitor Now $379 at Amazon
The Dell S3422DWG has dropped to its lowest price ever today at Amazon. This 34-inch curved monitor usually goes for around $450 but right now is available for $379. This is one of the best prices we’ve ever seen for the display which has a notably dense resolution.

Gigabyte G5 Gaming Laptop with RTX 3050 Ti Just $549
This is quite a deal on a laptop with an RTX 3050 Ti GPU inside! Just a few hours ago, we mentioned that Dell was selling a G15 gaming laptop with lesser, RTX 3050 graphics for $599 and that was a really good price. However, now, Best Buy is selling a Gigabyte G5 gaming laptop with RTX 3050 Ti graphics, a 1080p 144 Hz screen and a 512GB SSD for just $549 (opens in new tab).
With RTX 3050 Ti inside, you can expect to play most games in 1080p at high to ultra settings and get 40 to 60 fps in most cases, with ray tracing off. As it turns out, we are currently testing the Dell G5 that’s on sale in our lab. While, we haven’t published our review yet, we can say that it averaged 65 fps on Grand Theft Auto V at very high settings and 41.1 fps on Borderlands 3 at Badass settings.
In addition, we have recently tested several other RTX 3050 Ti-powered laptops in the Dell G15, Acer Nitro 5 and Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 and the frame rates we got on the same titles were in that ballpark. However, all three of those laptops cost between $700 and $999.
So what’s the catch? The Gigabyte G5 configuration on sale has just 8GB of RAM, which is not ideal but you can probably upgrade it with an inexpensive DIMM after you buy. It also has an older, Core i5-11400H CPU, but the difference in gaming performance between that and a Core i5-12500H should be negligible.
Overall, this is an amazing deal on a laptop with RTX 3050 Ti graphics.
Grab a Dell G15 Gaming Laptop for Just $599 or a Powerful G16 for $899
If you’re looking for a low-cost gaming laptop, Dell has a pair of great deals going right now. There’s a Dell G15 with RTX 3050 graphics, a Core i5 CPU and a 1080p, 120 Hz screen for just $599 (opens in new tab) and a Dell G16 with RTX 3050 Ti graphics, a Core i7 CPU and a 2560 x 1600, 165 Hz display for just $899 (opens in new tab).
To get the $599 Dell G15, you have to make quite a few trade-offs. The RTX 3050 graphics will probably require you to play most modern games at medium rather than high settings. But more importantly, you’ll have only 8GB of RAM and a modest 256GB SSD. However, you can upgrade RAM and storage after you purchase.
The Dell G16 on offer is a more complete package, with a full 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD. Its RTX 3050 Ti graphics should allow you to play games at 1080p and high settings, though it has a 2K display and playing at 2K might on most games might require turning the settings down.
We just published our review of the Dell G15, though our $899 review configuration had an RTX 3050 Ti graphics card instead of the RTX 3050 in the sale configuration and we tested with a 512GB SSD instead of 256GB. However, our review unit did have the same 1080p, 120 Hz display, the same Core i5-12500H CPU and the same chassis, keyboard and touchpad.
On our light meter, the display registered a solid 260 nits of brightness which was more than adequate for us to enjoy both video playback and gaming with little color fade at wider viewing angles. Sound was loud and rich, though there we heard some distortion at guitar and drum-heavy songs at maximum volume.
We also have been testing a Dell G16, although one with an RTX 3060 GPU instead of the RTX 3050 Ti in the sale config. However, we have tried out the same 2560 x 1600, 165 Hz display and found the color and brightness excellent. It registered an impressive 335 nits on our light meter with 106 percent of the sRGB color space on our colorimeter.
Lowest Prices for Every Current GPU
When you build a PC, the most important component for gaming performance is your graphics card. So there’s no more important upgrade and, in most cases, no more expensive component.
To help you find the best deal on a GPU, we’ve scoured the Internet to find the lowest price on each current Nvidia and AMD-powered graphics card. We’ve listed these below. Each card has a score out of 100 where 100 represents the performance of the fastest card we’ve tested, currently the RTX 4090. These numbers come from our tests and are shown in detail on our GPU benchmarks hierarchy.
It seems like prices for the highest of the high-end cards are actually higher than they were a couple of weeks ago, during Prime Day October. The minimum price for an RTX 3090 Ti is now $1,199 when it was less than $1,000 a few weeks ago. However, there are some really strong deals to be had. The RTX 3060 Ti, at $389, seems like a good mid-range value and, if you’re willing to spend about double, the RTX 3080 Ti, at $789, gives you a lot for your money.
Unless money is no object, don’t even think about buying an RTX 4090 right now because they cost hundreds of dollars more than the $1,599 base model MSRP.
AMD’s best low-priced card is the RX 6600, which is now as low as $215. Team red offers really great value at mid-range with the RX 6800 XT, costing only $534, but outpacing the $999 RTX 3080 Ti.

Blazing-Fast Kingston KC3000 SSD (1TB) is Just $92, All-Time Low
One of the fastest SSDs on the market is now well under $100 in its 1TB capacity. Kingston’s KC3000 NVMe PCIe SSD boasts sequential transfer rates of 7,000 and 6,000 MBps respectively. It also has 900,000 and 1 million random read and write IOPS.
Normally, you’d pay well over $100 for the 1TB Kingston KC3000, but today Newegg has it for just $92 (opens in new tab), which is about $13 below its previous all-time low price.
We reviewed the Kingston KC3000 (opens in new tab) last January and praised its blazing fast performance and high-rated endurance of 800 TBW. When we ran 3D Mark’s storage benchmark, the KC3000 outscored all of its competitors except for the WD Black SN850, which only beat it by 3 points.
The KC3000 also aced our 50GB file copy test, besting all of its competitors, including the WD Black SN850.
Samsung’s new 990 Pro SSD, which isn’t shipping yet, is slightly faster than the Kingston KC3000 but it’s like $80 more at this capacity. So getting the KC3000 for $92 is practically a steal.
Dell G2723HN 27-inch Gaming Monitor now $199 with included $100 eGift Card
For eSports gamers out there looking for a high-refresh rate display at a reasonable price, look no further than the Dell G2723HN. This is a 27-inch monitor with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate. In addition, it supports both AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync Adaptive-Sync technologies.

On top of that, the deal includes a $100 Dell Promo eGift Card that can be used for a future purchase at Dell.com. However, we must warn you that the eGift Card must be used within 90 days of issuance. This might not be a problem if you’re looking to load up on tech gear as the holiday season approaches.
If the low price isn’t compelling enough, we should mention that the G2723HN covers 99 percent of the sRGB color space, boasts a panel brightness of up to 350 nits, features a 1ms response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and comes with Dell’s standard 3-year Advanced Exchange Service and Premium Panel Exchange warranty.
27-inch, 1440p Dell S2721DGF Monitor now $269
The price, performance and image quality sweet spot for gaming monitors is 2K resolution, 165 Hz refresh and 27 to 32 inches panel size. While many there are many affordable monitors with these specs. Dell’s S2721DGF stands out because of its vibrant colors and great build quality.
Normally selling for $300 or more, the S2721DGF is now on sale for $269 (opens in new tab) at Dell.com. As far as we can tell from checking the price history, this is the cheapest it has ever been.
When we reviewed the Dell S2721DGF, we noted that it has both strong color accuracy and strong coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. According to our colorimeter, the display reproduced a strong 92.88 percent of the DCI-P3 gamut and 137.7 percent of the sRGB gamut. Those numbers put it ahead of its competitors.
We also really liked its ability to handle HDR content. Though it wasn’t the brightest in HDR mode, the S2721DGF was extremely color accurate and jumped to an amazing 5000:1 contrast ratio.
If you’re looking for a 27-inch gaming monitor with 2K resolution, the Dell S2721DGF is hard to beat and this is a great deal on it.
Grab a 280mm Cooler Master AIO Cooler for Just $40
If you’re planning a PC build, you’ll need a good cooler to get the best performance out of your CPU, particularly if you plan to overclock it. In general, AIO coolers, which transfer heat from the processor to liquid coolant that gets pumped through a radiator, provide better performance than the air coolers which come in your CPU’s box.
However, normally, you can expect to spend at least $80 for an AIO cooler and more than $100 if you want something premium. Today, Newegg has the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML280 Mirror AIO on sale for just $40 after mail-in rebate (opens in new tab).
The MasterLiquid ML280 Mirror AIO comes with a radiator that has dual, 140mm fans and a sleek, RGB “infinite mirror” surface on the pump. The system comes with an RGB controller you can use to set the colors on the pump.
The cooler works with most modern socket types, including AM4, but requires an extra bracket to support LGA 1700 (the type you need for Intel 11th and 12 gen CPUs).
Samsung T7 Shield 1 TB SSD Lowers to $89 at Amazon
Users looking for storage on a budget without sacrificing performance should take a look at this offer from Amazon on the Samsung T7 Shield 1 TB SSD. We reviewed this SSD when it first debuted and appreciated its performance given its price point.
The Samsung T7 Shield has an M.2 2280 form factor and is housed inside a case intended to help keep things cool as a heat spreader. It connects using a USB-C Gen 3 interface and relies on a Samsung Pablo controller.
This particular edition uses Samsung 128L TLC for memory and has some fairly reasonable read/write speeds—reaching up to 1050 / 1000 Mbps. This is slower than Samsung’s leading X5 Portable but given its price, the tradeoff it more than worth it if you don’t need top-of-the-line speeds.
It comes with optional 256-bit AES hardware encryption and is backed by both a 30-day return policy from Amazon and a limited 3-year warranty from Samsung.
MSI Laptop Modern 15 A5M Laptop Now $499 at Amazon

Samsung 990 Pro, Fastest Consumer SSD, Now on Pre-Order
The fastest consumer SSD is almost here. When we reviewed the Samsung 990 Pro last month, we noted that the new PCIe 4.0 SSD was faster than all of its competitors, including the SK hynix Platinum P41, WD Black SN850 and Samsung’s own Samsung 980 Pro. But the speedy 990 Pro wasn’t available at the time we tested it.
Now, B&H is offering the 1TB Samsung 990 Pro for $169 (opens in new tab) and the 2TB capacity for $289. There’s no word on a ship date, but we expect it to arrive within the next few weeks.
If you can wait for it to ship, the 990 Pro will deliver you the fastest SSD speeds you can get right now. It’s rated for 7,450 MBps sequential reads and 6,900 MBps sequential writes, along with up to 1.4 and 1.55 million random read and write IOPS.
In our tests, the SSD 990 Pro dominated the competition, trouncing competitors from WD and SK hynix by hundreds of points in 3DMark’s SSD performance test.
If you can’t wait or want to spend less, check our list of the best SSD deals.
HP Victus 15 Gaming Laptop with RTX 3050 Ti Now $799
We recently published our list of the best gaming laptops under $1,000. One thing we learned from studying this market segment: you can get an RTX 3050 Ti graphics card on a laptop that costs less than $800 — take the $709 Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3, for example — but you won’t normally find one in that price band that has a 3050 Ti, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. For that card with that amount of storage and RAM, you’ll likely be paying closer to $1,000.
Right now, Best Buy has the HP Victus 15 with 3050 Ti, Core i7-12650H CPU, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, along with a 144 Hz display for just $799 (opens in new tab), reduced from $1,099.
We reviewed the HP Victus 15 (opens in new tab), but with much lower-end specs (GTX 1650 graphics, 8GB of RAM and a Core i5-12450H CPU). Overall, we liked the professional-looking design and the snappy keyboard. The 144 Hz screen was responsive, but not the brightest, registering 235 nits on our light meter.
We’ve also tested a lot of laptops with RTX 3050 Ti graphics and found that, on most mid-range games, they can deliver frame rates in the 50 to 60 fps range at 1080p, high or ultra settings. On more-demanding games, you can still get a very playable 30 to 40 fps.
Radeon RX 6600 Card, Good for 1080p Gaming, Hits $219
While it’s easier to find graphics cards in stock than ever, they still don’t come cheap. If you’re planning a budget build, a card with AMD’s Radeon RX 6600 GPU inside is a good value. RX 6600 cards are in the low to mid-$200 range and they offer strong 1080p gaming at high settings and acceptable play at 2K as well.
Now, Newegg has a Radeon RX 6600 card, the Gigabyte Radeon RX 6600 Eagle 8G on sale for just $219 (opens in new tab). That’s the lowest price for an RX 6600 card.
When we reviewed an RX 6600 card, we found that its performance was very close to that of Nvidia RTX 3060, a card that still costs $369 and up. On our 13-game, 1080p (Ultra settings_ test suite, the RX 6600 averaged 100 fps to the RTX 3060’s 103. One caveat: Nvidia’s card is far better at ray tracing.
So, if you’re looking for a graphics card that won’t break the bank, the RX 6600 is a good choice. We are tracking even more savings on our list of best graphics card deals.
Dirt Cheap SSD Storage: $89 for 2TB SATA Drive, $119 for 2TB PCIe Drive
Given that a single PC game can use up more than 150GB of storage, you need a lot of storage if you’re going to have a full library of titles installed. Ditto, if you do any kind of photo or video editing. With the price of SSDs today, 2TB is the sweet spot between low price and high capacity, but you’ll normally pay around $200 for a 2TB NVMe SSD and around $175 for a 2TB SATA drive.
With all the early Black Friday sales going on, today you can get a 2TB Patriot P210 SATA SSD for just $89 (opens in new tab) and a 2TB Intel 670P NVMe SSD for a mere $119 (opens in new tab). Unless you are upgrading an older PC or laptop that only supports 2.5-inch drives, we wouldn’t recommend using the Patriot P210 as your boot drive as its 520 / 430 MBps sequential read and writes are a fraction of what NVMe drives get, but it could be good as your D drive.
The Intel 670p isn’t the fastest drive on the market, but it does offer a solid 3,500 MBps / 2,700 MBps read and write speeds, along with 20,000 / 54,000 random read and write IOPS. Those are more than adequate rates for gaming and productivity.
When we reviewed the Intel 670p SSD, we found its performance was competitive with higher-end drives, including popular Samsung 980 Pro. Its latency, measured in microseconds, was almost as low as the 980 Pro’s.
We haven’t tested the Patriot P210, but we’re at the point where most SATA SSDs offer similar performance that’s good enough for bulk storage. However, in choosing a SATA drive, you still want a reputable brand and Patriot is a very reputable one, having been in the SSD business for a long time. Yes, you can find a cheap SATA drive from a no-name brand like Fanxiang, but we wouldn’t recommend it.
Asus TUF Gaming 27-inch, 1440p 170 Hz Monitor Now $199
If you’re looking for a gaming monitor, you need want two things above all else: a high refresh rate and plenty of screen resolution. Now on sale for just $199 after rebate (opens in new tab) at Newegg, Asus’s TUF Gaming sports a 2560 x 1440 (1440p) resolution and a 170 Hz refresh rate. It also promises support for HDR10 content.
Normally when you’re paying around $200 for a gaming monitor, you have to settle for 1080p resolution. However, this is a 2K screen that’s curved and supports HDR, features you’d expect to pay another $100 or more for.
Samsung 1 TB T7 Portable External SSD $94 at Amazon
The Samsung 1 TB T7 Portable External SSD is available for its lowest price yet at Amazon. It’s typically priced around $115 but right now is available for $94. This puts the final price around 9 cents per GB.
This is a portable SSD using a USB 3.2 interface to connect with. Today’s offer applies to the 1 TB model but other capacities are available including 500 GB and 2 TB models.
Because this drive is portable, it’s designed to be shock resistant to help protect it against falls. It also has built-in thermal control features to prevent overheating. Under optimal conditions, it’s capable of reaching read/write speeds as high as 1050 / 1000 Mbps.
This purchase comes with optional security features including password protection as well as 256-bit AES hardware encryption. The drive is backed up by Amazon’s 30-day return policy as well as a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty from Samsung.
LG 49-Inch 49WQ95C-W UltraWide Curved IPS Monitor Down to $999 at Amazon
Today at Amazon, the LG 49WQ95C-W 49-Inch curved UltraWide monitor has dropped to a new all-time low price. It’s been going for around $1199 as of late but right now can be purchased for $999.
The LG 49WQ95C-W features a 49-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 5120 x 1440px. According to LG, it has a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz and a response time of 5ms.

Users have a built-in 10-watt speaker to take advantage of for audio support as well as a 3.5mm jack for external audio peripherals. For video input, it has two HDMI ports as well as one DisplayPort. The LG 49WQ95C-W also has a USB-C port available.
Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 falls to a low $549.99 with GeForce RTX 3050 Ti
For people looking for a budget gaming laptop that offers a lot of bang for the buck, the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is a great starting point. However, the laptop is available at an all-time low price, making it an even better value for deal seekers.
The Ryzen 5 5600H version of the laptop typically sells for $899.99 but is currently available for just $549.99, which represents a $350 discount. This price is available from Best Buy and gets you 8GB of DDR4-3200 memory, a 256GB SSD and a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti discrete graphics card.
We recently reviewed the IdeaPad Gaming 3, albeit the Intel Core i5-12500H version of the laptop. We were impressed with its low price, good looks, and formidable sound system. However, we weren’t thrilled with its single-channel RAM and somewhat lackluster 1080p gaming performance.
However, the gaming situation could improve with this Ryzen 5 5600H version, and the sales price is more than $150 less than the as-tested price of our Intel-based review unit. You could use those savings to double your RAM to 16GB (there’s a free SO-DIMM slot). The SSD is also upgradeable, but remember that it only accepts 42mm SSDs rather than their more common 80mm counterparts.
Intel 670p 1TB NVMe SSD Now $59, An All-Time Low
If you’re looking to build a budget system, upgrade the boot drive on an older PC or just add secondary storage to your computer, Intel’s 670p SSD is always a great bargain and now it’s at an all-time low price.
Normally, $69, the 1TB capacity of the drive is now just $59 at Newegg (opens in new tab) when you use coupon code 7BFBYA265 at checkout. The M.2 drive promises sequential read and writes of 3,500 and 2,500 MBps.
When we reviewed the Intel 670p, we were impressed with its solid performance for the money and its relatively large dynamic SLC cache. It also has 256-bit hardware encryption and is rated for a reasonable 370 TBW.
When we used the 2TB capacity of the drive to load a scene in Final Fantasy XIV, it was faster than almost all of its competitors. We didn’t test the 1TB capacity that’s on sale here, but it also provide strong game load times.
On PCMark10, the edrive was only a few points behind the powerful Samsung 980 Pro, which is much more expensive and uses a PCIe 4.0 interface.
Overall, this is a great price on a 1TB SSD that offers really solid performance.
Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop with RTX 3060 Now $699
When you’re looking for a gaming laptop, the single most important component is the graphics card. Get a lesser graphics card and you’ll have to turn your settings down to play your favorite games. Go for a better one and you can turn on all the special effects you want while still achieving smooth frame rates.
If your gaming laptop budget is less than $1,000, the best GPU you can normally hope for is an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti, which will play mainstream competitive games such as Overwatch 2 at 1080p and high settings in the 50 to 60 fps range, but will drop down much lower if you turn on ray tracing or play a much more demanding title. An RTX 3060 card is a huge performance step up and, right now, you can find an Acer Nitro 5 with an RTX 3060 inside for just $699 at Walmart (opens in new tab).
To get a system with RTX 3060 graphics for just $699, you have to be willing to make a few compromises. This configuration comes with just 8GB of RAM, which you’ll definitely want to upgrade after you buy it. This config doesn’t appear to have RGB backlighting on the keyboard so forget about an exciting light show.
On the bright side, the 144 Hz, 1080p screen will definitely be able to keep up with whatever the GPU throws at it, providing smooth tear-free game play, even if you get over 100 fps. It also has a modest 512GB SSD, which should be enough to install maybe two or three large games.
We have not tested this exact configuration of the Acer Nitro 5, but we have tested a few RTX 3060-powered gaming laptops. Most recently, we reviewed the MSI Sword 15 with RTX 3060 graphics and a Core i5-12500H CPU. Thanks primarily to its graphics card, it was able to lay waste to its RTX 3050 Ti-based competitors. For example, the RTX 3060-powered laptop achieved a frame rate of 90 fps in Grand Theft Auto V at 1080p and very high settings, where three RTX 3050 Ti laptop got rates of 60 or 61 fps. These competitors cost between $700 and $1,000.

AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU at $329 is a Great Deal
Intel’s new Raptor Lake CPUs dominate AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 series CPUs when it comes to gaming and even in most productivity benchmarks. Even worse for AMD: team red’s new chips and the motherboards you need for them are extremely expensive.
However, there’s one AMD chip that’s a great value and offers excellent gaming performance: the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Thanks to its 96MB of L3 cache, the 5800X3D is actually faster at gaming than any Ryzen 7000 series CPU and it competes with and sometimes beats Intel’s latest Core i5 and Core i7 chips. Best of all: this 8-core, 16-thread CPU is now only $329 at Best Buy (opens in new tab).
As you can see on our benchmark chart below, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D provided higher 1080p frame rates than any other processor except the pricey Core i9-13900K at stock speeds.
Better still, the cost of buying a motherboard to go with your Ryzen 7 5800X3D is really low. You can grab a B550 motherboard for as little as $89 (opens in new tab). Compare that to the X670 boards that you need for the Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, which start at $289.

AMD-Powered ThinkPad Z13 Has 14 hours of Battery Life, $1375 Price
If you’re looking for a great typing experience, superior build quality and the accurate navigation that only a TrackPoint pointing stick can deliver, you want a ThinkPad. While the ThinkPad X1 Carbon grabs a lot of headlines, the ThinkPad Z13, a 13-inch AMD powered model that’s new for 2022, has even more to offer.
The 13-inch, Z13 weighs just 2.78 pounds and is a mere 0.55 inches thick, making it really easy to throw in a bag and take everywhere. Thanks to some great power efficiency from its Ryzen 6000 series CPU and its 1920 x 1200 display, the laptop lasted about 14 hours (13:58 to be exact) on our battery test. That’s about 5 hours longer than the most recent X1 Carbon we tested.
Now, by using coupon code 2022THINKDEAL at checkout, you can get a ThinkPad Z13 with a a Ryzen 5 6650U CPU, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD and a 1920 x 1200 display for just $1,374 at Lenovo (opens in new tab). That’s a great price for that much endurance. You can use the same coupon code to get savings on higher-end configs of the Z13 (opens in new tab) as well. The config we reviewed, which featurs a Ryzen 7 6850U CPU, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, a 1920 x 1200 touch screen and a vegan leather lid, is $1,566 (opens in new tab) with the code.
When we reviewed the ThinkPad Z13, we praised its attractive design. While the laptop clearly has a ThinkPad aesthetic, Lenovo uses different colors and materials. The body is made from 95 percent recycled aluminum and the lid comes in either silver (the least expensive option) or vegan leather with copper accents (which is hot). The box it comes in is made from sugar cane and is therefore biodegradable.
Putting environmental friendliness aside, this is one powerful laptop that will make you more productive too. The unit we tested, which had a Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U and it had a higher multi-core Geekbench score than the ThinkPad X1 Carbon (Gen 10) which was loaded with a Core i7-1260P CPU.
Like other ThinkPads, the Z13 has a highly-responsive keyboard. It also has both a TrackPoint pointing stick and a touchpad. In what’s likely a first for a ThinkPad, the touchpad is haptic and you can bring up a special menu by pressing down on the TrackPoint.
The 1920 x 1200 touch display on our review unit was extremely bright, hitting 428.6 nits on our light meter. It also reproduced a full 107 percent of the sRGB color gamut. The less-expensive config that’s $1367 doesn’t have a touch screen but it is rated for 400 nits of brightness and 100 percent of the sRGB gamut.
Whichever ThinkPad Z13 you choose, you can expect excellent audio output , a bright display, long battery life and a great typing and navigation experience.

Intel Core i5-13600K Falls to $300, All-Time Low
In most of our benchmark tests, Intel’s new 13th Gen, “Raptor Lake” CPUs make mince meat of both AMD’s 7000 series and prior-gen Intel processors. The lineup, so far, consists of a Core i9-13900K, Core i7-13700K and Core i5-13600K, as well as KF versions of each chip that are otherwise identical but lack integrated GPUs.
When we reviewed the latest Raptor Lake chips, we found that they beat pretty much every AMD chip — the Ryzen 7-5800X3D hangs with Intel in a few tests — in 1080p and 1440p gaming. But, with an MSRP of $319 and a street price that’s been around $329 up until now, the Core i5-13600K is the best value by far. Today, Newegg and Best Buy have the chip for just $300 (opens in new tab), a new all-time low. Amazon had it, but it’s now out of stock
As you can see in the chart below, the Core i5-13600K averaged 183 fps on our 1080p test suite, outpacing even the Ryzen 9 7950X. The chip easily overclocked to 5.6 GHz, taking it all the way up to 199 fps, which beats even the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.
The Core i5-13600K is no slouch when it comes to productivity either. Its Cinebench R23 multicore score, for example, is above the Ryzen 7 7700X, a chip that costs $100 more.
The Intel Core i5-13600K features 6 P-cores that boost up to 5.1 GHz and 8 E-cores that boost to 3.9 GHz. It has a 125W TDP and comes with a cooler in the box.
Save $600 Off an Asus Rog G15 Advantage Edition Gaming Laptop
It’s still a way off before Black Friday hits us, but that hasn’t stopped Best Buy from knocking out some great Early Black Friday deals. The Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition gaming laptop is on sale for just $1,099 (opens in new tab). The G15’s configuration is powerful, and it’s hard to find a gaming laptop that can match this much power at this price.
With an AMD Ryzen 9 5980HX processor, and Radeon RX 6800M GPU powering the 165Hz QHD screen, this laptop should be more than capable of playing all the latest games on high settings. We reviewed the Asus ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition (opens in new tab) and gave it 4-stars, thanks primarily to its solid gaming and productivity performance, and long-lasting battery.
Asus’s ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition gaming laptop fared well in our testing and provided great performance results when compared to laptops of a similar pedigree. Our tests were completed on a unit that had a 1080p FHD display, so results will vary as this particular laptop comes with a more resource-hungry 165Hz 1440p QHD display that will provide better picture quality, but put more of a strain on the G15’s hardware.
On Shadow of the Tomb Raider on its highest settings at 1080p, the Strix G15 ran the test at 88 frames per second, beating out the RTX 3060 and the Alienware m15 Ryzen Edition R5 (73 fps) and finishing just ahead of the RTX 3070 in the Razer Blade Pro 17 (86 fps). As expected the MSI GP66, with an RTX 3080 inside, sailed ahead at 106 fps.
When testing Grand Theft Auto V on very high settings (1080p), the Strix played the game at 98 fps, surpassing the Alienware (82 fps) but falling behind both the Blade Pro (102 fps) and the GP66 (125 fps).
On Far Cry New Dawn (1080p, ultra), the Strix, achieved 81 fps, very much in line with the Alienware (79 fps) than the Blade Pro, which ran at 89 fps. The GP66 hit 103 fps.
Overall, this is a great deal on a gaming laptop at this price. It already has 16GB of DDR4 RAM which is ample to play modern games and also have some browser windows open at the same time. Storage wise we have a 512GB SSD with Windows 11 pre-installed.
