Lionel Messi produced a stunning pass in the build-up to Kylian Mbappe’s opener against Auxerre on Sunday afternoon.
Paris Saint-Germain fielded a strong XI for their final game before the World Cup.
Their trio of star attackers – Messi, Mbappe and Neymar – were all in the starting line-up.
And the two combined for a superb team goal to open the scoring in the 11th minute.
Nuno Mendes got the assist and Mbappe scored the goal, but it wouldn’t have been possible without Messi’s sublime pass in the build-up.
Auxerre were defending very deep but they were cut apart by the 35-year-old magician.
Messi spotted the run of Mendes and found himself with a lovely chipped ball.
Mendes then squared the ball to Mbappe who managed to find the net. View the goal below…

Messi’s pass was so good that the majority of PSG players ran to him to celebrate rather than going to Mbappe.
Marco Verratti, Neymar and Achraf Hakimi all went to Messi before celebrating with Mbappe.
Mbappe scored a goal but players are celebrating with Messi ♥️
No goal or assist, but that goal was all about Messi’s pass!! Football is not always about goal
