The house in the movie A Christmas Story, which served as the backdrop for some of the most memorable scenes, is now listed for sale, but the price hasn’t been made available yet.
The property shown in the 1983 movie is located at 3159 West 11th Street in Cleveland and it was placed on the market for sale on Monday, November 14, 2022.
The house remains open around the year to the public for tours and night stays. If purchasing this property is on your Christmas list, here’s everything we know.
A Christmas Story house price isn’t revealed
The asking price for A Christmas Story house hasn’t been available, at the time of writing.
The current owner of the property, Brian Jones, told 3News they are “Looking for the right buyer” after placing the For Sale sign outside the house.
He also said: “It’s an interesting property to not only own, but you also have to take care of as a piece of Americana. It’s going to be an interesting journey.”

A look at the iconic movie location
NBC reports, the house featured in A Christmas story was constructed in 1995 and the current owners purchased it on eBay in 2004.
The property was later restored and opened to the public in 2006. The visitors get a 60-minute guided tour in and around the property. It is open all seven days a week around the year except on a few major holidays, including New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
The entire property stretches across 1.3 acres and even includes a museum which is situated across the street from the house and a gift shop consisting of movie memorabilia.
According to the listing, it features “original props, costumes, and memorabilia from the film, as well as hundreds of rare behind-the-scenes photos.”

Operations will be running as normal despite the listing
A Christmas Story House will remain open to visitations during the holiday season and later despite being put up for sale.
The listing states: “If you have already purchased tickets or an overnight reservation everything will be honored as all of our operations will be running as normal this Holiday season and going forward.”
The property is open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm. However, it does open for reduced hours on certain days depending on the occasion. You can check the calendar HERE for availability in November and December.
